Gravity separation is the main beneficiation method of chrome ore,
and the equipment is jaw crusher, ball mill, shaking table, spiral
classifier, centrifugal concentrator and spiral chute, etc.
Sometimes it will also use weak magnetic separation or strong
magnetic separation for re-separation, thus further improving the
chromium concentrate grade and chromium-iron ratio. In addition,
some mines will also use flotation and flocculation flotation
methods.

Chrome Ore Mining Process
For chromite beneficiation, there are many methods such as gravity
separation, flotation and magnetic separation. We will give the
final beneficiation method based on the ore analysis report and
beneficiation test report, etc. The main process of commonly used
gravity separation is:
1. The chrome ore with qualified fineness after crushing and
grinding will send to spiral classifier for cleaning and grading by
relying on principle of different proportion of solid particles and
the velocity of settling in liquids. Then being sent to jigger and
shaking table.

2. Using spiral chute to separate fine fineness mineral powder.
3. After separated by spiral chute, the fine mineral powder will be
sent to flotation machine or magnetic separator. The ore
concentrate entering flotation machine will be dehydrated by
thickener
4. The wet concentrate will be sent to rotary dryer for drying,
thus getting the wet ore concentrates or returning to ball mill for
re-grinding.
Customer Case Of Chromite Beneficiation Plant
In 2016, we designed a gravity separation process for one of our
customers who has chromite mine with ore grade of more than 30%.
His ore belongs to rich ore, but there also has poor chromium ore
with different grade. Therefore, our company deeply studied the ore

customers. Under the grinding granularity of 200mesh in 60%, the
customer finally obtained refined chrome ore with the grade of
39.9%. The chromium recovery rate is up to 64.56%.
